Thomas Worthington Whittredge In Lebanon Valley, PA

Thomas Worthington Whittredge (1820-1910) In Lebanon Valley, PA Oil on paper laid on board 8 5/8 x 13 inches Signed lower right

These works come to us directly from the collection of a direct descendant of their collector, George B. Cluett (1904-1957), a member of a prominent Troy, New York family and a descendant of the founder of Cluett, Peabody & Co, Inc, shirt and collar manufacturers well-known for their Arrow brand products. Cluett was raised in the townhouse that is now home to the Hart Cluett Museum located in the downtown Second Street Historic District in Troy, New York. Cluett amassed his collection from prominent American Art galleries in the 1940’s and 1950’s. These works have been on loan for decades to a Connecticut museum until they were consigned to Hawthorne Fine Art, LLC.

Please come and see them in our new gallery space at 155 East 55th Street, Suite 5K. We are open by appointment with flexibility to accommodate your schedule.
